Talk of the Town

Update: September 5, 2015


What a beautiful time of the year. Fall has arrived and with it comes the cooler nights, the beautiful color change of many leaves on the trees and of course everything pumpkin. From our favorite muffins, breads, and cakes to the new fancy drinks at our local coffee shops. Pumpkin and the fall have become second it seems to Christmas. So for the next couple of months here at Millers Bistro, we will be whipping up a variety of pumpkin treats. Breads and muffins as well as those ever so tasty pies. From our kitchen to yours, happy Thanksgiving.


Update: August 17, 2015


Our Master Baker has been busy again in the kitchen.  With the increased orders and requests for our famous sour dough he decided to embark on a new adventure to create yet another quality bread which has been the talk of the town.  We are now introducing three varieties of sour dough.  Whole Wheat, Multi Grain and the traditional White.  All these breads can be made in the form of sandwich loaves or dinner and sandwich buns.  In addition at the request of many clients we also make them in baguette style as well.

Update: July 2, 2015


We are baking and cooking around the clock as we prepare to head to the island of Quadra, just across from Campbell River, BC.  We will be attending the local farmers market to showcase our home baked nutritious breads, breakfast crunch and veggie meatballs.  For those who are in the area or will be visiting, we encourage you to stop by our booth for a sample taste.  We will be at the market on July 18, 2015.   We will then return again in August for the market on August 15, 2015.  


Update: July 2, 2015


What a beautiful day to be out and about.  Our Master Baker took a couple hours and slipped away from the kitchen to pick some fresh Blueberries.  Upon his return most of what he picked was quickly turned into some delicious blue berry pies for customers waiting to get their hands on one of these fruits in season.  The rest were frozen for use later when these sneaky little berries are not in season for many different baked items and sweet treats.

With the summer in full swing, many of you will notice that it is fast approaching strawberry, raspberry and blue berry season.  Short as they are, they are so worth every thing made with these beautiful and highly nutritious fruits.  We are taking a tour in the Fraser Valley to pick some fresh fruits when they are at their peek and then turn them into some of the most delicious home baked items yet.  Are you craving a nice lemon/Blueberry muffin, or what about blueberry cheesecake.  Raspberry lemon bars or maybe a raspberry flan to share with your friends over a nice cup of espresso.  What ever your craving we are creating many different home baked goodies and sweet treats during this once of a year time with fresh fruits in season.
